PulseView™, when combined with the innovative IF digitizing option, offers industry-leading 2.5 ns pulse resolution and 100 dB dynamic range with no compromises or trade-offs due to varying duty cycles. 4-port Single-ended or Balanced Measurements using DifferentialView™ Analysis

DifferentialView™, when combined with the dual internal source option, offers real time display analysis of differential devices, drivers, and components while actively modifying phase and magnitude relationships of the internal dual sources.


Broadband Noise Figure Measurements from 70 kHz to 125 GHz

The noise figure option is based on a cold source technique for improved noise figure measurement accuracy. VectorStar™ is the only VNA platform capable of measuring noise figure from 70 kHz to 125 GHz and available with an optimized noise receiver for measurements from 30 GHz to 125 GHz.

The VectorStar™ Broadband ME7838A system begins a new era in broadband characterization offering many advances in broadband performance including:

  • Industry-best broadband frequency coverage - starts at 70 kHz instead of 10 MHz and operational from 40 kHz to 125 GHz
  • Industry-best dynamic range: 108 dB vs 83 dB at 65 GHz and 107 dB vs 87 dB at 110 GHz
  • Industry-best measurement speed: 55 ms vs 500 ms for 201 pts
  • Industry-best calibration and measurement stability: 0.1 dB vs 0.6 dB over 24 hrs
  • Compact, lightweight mm-wave modules for easy, precise, and economical positioning on the wafer probe station - 0.6 vs 7.6 lb and 1/50 the volume

2 and 4 Port VectorStar™ ME7838A Operating with External mm-wave Modules

The VectorStar™ ME7838A mm-wave system combines the MS4640B series VNA and 3739B test set to control 2 external mm-wave modules for measurement frequencies from 110 GHz to 750 GHz and higher in waveguide bands. The 3739B test set routes the internal RF and LO signals from VectorStar™ thus eliminating the need for external sources. If 4 ports are required, a SM6586 test set and the MN4697B 4 port test set with 2 additional modules can be attached. OML or VDI modules may be used.


First mm-wave System with Real-time Electronic Power Leveling

The real-time power leveling in this VNA system, has best-in-class stability with the widest power level control advantage. The mm-wave system detects IF and RF power and provides correction to the mm-wave power in real time and without the need for software correction feedback. Thus eliminates power correction time lag found on alternative systems using software correction feedback method.


Accurate, Stable Power Control with Widest Power Sweep for Safe, Accurate Gain Compression Measurements

The real-time power leveling method delivers stable mm-wave power even at low levels and reduces the risk of overdriving power-sensitive mm-wave devices - inherent in other systems. Thus, power sweep is available in an industry-leading range of up to 55 dB and without the need for mechanical attenuators in the mm-wave module.


On Wafer Measurments Made Easy

For on-wafer measurements, VectorStar offers the smallest, lightest and easiest to position frequency extension modules which connect directly to wafer probes. Bulky, difficult-to-mount frequency extension modules are a thing of the past, even when working with 4-port measurements.
